In my previous book, General Store Collectibles, I focused on a variety of items and subjects that will not be found in this book. Volume 1 featured patent medicines, cash registers, Christmas at the general store, dye cupboards, and vet cabinets, to name a few. There was also a chapter on care and restoration. Volume 2 brings forth a completely different array of fascinating collectibles along with historical perspectives of the important role of the general store in the "good old days." It is, I hope, an attempt to capture through words and photos the wonderful nostalgia of an institution that contributed substantially to the development of our nation.
