For the advanced collector. I have tried to show a number of rarer spoons, yet I have not written in depth about any particular spoon as previous authors have done. Instead, at the editor's urging, I have chosen to show a much wider variety of spoons and more pictures than any other American spoon book ever published. In many cases, I have chosen to show only portions of the spoon so that the incredible details can be more easily seen. If more specific research is needed for a particular spoon, the usual sources of the library and encyclopedia are recommended.
