Many of the Lefton items were produced in several sizes with different colors, designs, poses, and styles. Tableware also came in a variety of shades, shapes, and patterns. Many Lefton items carry marks, identification numbers, and paper labels, although some were sold with only one of the three. Paper labels are often lost through washing or other wear. Resale value of pieces will be higher if all identifying marks are present, but until you become more familiar with the Lefton look of quality and appearance, you can be safe buying pieces with fired-on trademarks. You should be careful using paper labels as the only means of identification.
