Fostoria Useful and Ornamental The Crystal for America

In the nearly 100 years of the Fostoria Glass Company, the glass it offered to the American people over and over again reflected the climate of the times. In its earliest days, hand-painted oil lamps and vases, and heavy, pressed crystal were the norm. After World War I, the feeling of affluence brought on by the peace that followed that terrible time encouraged design and artistry, and eventually, an explosion of color in the glass industry. In Fostoria Tableware: 1924 - 1943, we documented the most prolific and extraordinary time in the history of the company. This volume continues to document the depth and abundance of glass produced during the 1924 - 1943 period with the inclusion of some items before 1924 and after 1943.
