Collector's Encyclopedia Metlox Potteries Identification and Values 2nd Edition

My acquaintance with Metlox Potteries began quite inadvertently in January, 1990, at a 1950s resale shop in Houston, Texas. The previous summer, engrossed with the finer decor and design of that period, I had begun a purchasing spree that progressed from 1950s furniture to art pottery to dinnerware, especially hand-painted dinnerware. I was fascinated with an unmarked item, a wonderfully lopsided, abstract W-shape with a meandering, almost hypnotic, black and gray primitive design on a textured white background.
