Collecting American Paintings

The origin of this text began several decades ago in a number of interesting experiences I had when beginning to collect American paintings. The chapters are written with a degree of independence; hence there is some duplication. Hopefully it can be examined as a reference text or read as a novel. This text is written for the initiate, and for the collector who has assembled a number of paintings through random acquisitions that provide no thematic identity and little satisfaction with either the process or the achievement.
