Modern Fishing Lure Collectibles Volume V

This is my fifth and fin al volume in a five-volume series on fishing lures and related fishing collectibles dealing primarily with items made since 1940 in the United States. Prev ious volumes documented the reasoning for the date selected, and it has now become well established within collector circles. However, it should be added that most tackle for sale at shows, at flea markets, and on the Internet is really of more recent vintage than the prewar vintage tackle era. I would estimate that between 70% and 90% of all lures, rods, and reels for sa le in most markets were made after 1940. It may not be that high at some of the more exclusive tackle shows, but it certainly is that high online and at local flea market and garage sales. High-end shows such as Lang's and many of the NFLCC sanctioned lure shows will have older tackle, but for the most part, the items being sold online and at many shows are from 1940 to 1990.
