Albany Glass

Operating in Albany, Indiana, from 1893-1902, the Model Flint Glass Co. produced many types of tableware, before and after it became one of the 19 factories forming the National Glass Company in 1899. A variety of patterns are featured, including Albany, Alhambra, Fern, Grace, Indiana, Kismet, Oak Leaf, Peerless, Reverse Swirl, and Shepherd's Plaid. The full range of Albany's colors,from cobalt blue to canary opalescent, are well represented. Also included are the Lord's Supper Plate, Ladies' Spittoon, and the Elisabeth Smith water set. Ron Teal set out to clarify the fact and fiction surrounding Albany Glass, and this well-researched and documented title is the result. This beautiful book has 176 pages, in which has a 64 page, well-organized color section that depicts over a thousand pieces. It also includes the letters, advertisements, and other documentation historic to the Model Flint Glass Company. Published 1997, the 8 page price list is included.
