PIERRE E. GUERIN, founder of the firm of P. E. GUERIN, Inc., was born in Brittany, France, August 17, 1833. He came to the United States at an early age and learned the p~imary rudiments of his trade at what were considered the best metal shops in the country in those days. He started in business for himself in 1857 on a very small scale at No. 1¾ Marion Street, moved thereafter to No. 197 Wooster Street then to Nos. 220-222 Wooster Street, then to No. 24 West Third Street, and finally to the present location, Nos. 21-23-25 Jane Street, where the business has been located since 1892.
