The Regency Period 1810-1830

The Regency was the period that produced the castellated mansions and romantic landscape gardens of John Nash and Repton, the heyday of the Royal Pavilion at Brighton and the re-building of Windsor Castle; the period when ornate silver, plate, china and cut glass were piled high in household pantries and strong rooms and brought on to the table at each mealtime; an age whose artists included Turner, Constable, Blake, Crome, Cotman and others who are among the greatest masters of the English School.
