Fostoria Glass Company produced a wide variety of glassware patterns throughout its history. Collectors often seek out rare or unusual patterns, as well as complete sets of popular designs. The ''No. 2397'' pattern is one of the numerous glass patterns of the company. It can be seen here on a vase. Fostoria Glass Company was an American glassware manufacturer that operated from 1887 to 1986. It was based in Fostoria, Ohio, and produced a wide range of glassware products, including stemware, dinnerware, decorative pieces, and more. Because of the fuel shortages, the company moved to Moundsville, West Virginia, in 1891. During its peak in the mid-20th century, Fostoria Glass Company was one of the largest employers, with over 1,000 employees. However, the company faced financial difficulties in the 1970s and 1980s. Fostoria Glass Company sold its factory to Lancaster Colony Corporation of Columbus, Ohio, in 1983. After nearly a century of operation, the company eventually ceased production in 1986.
