Vintage " No. 00 FRICTIONITE " Straight Razor Hones are recognized as ONE OF THE BEST RAZOR Hones available on the Earth. This razor hone will definitely help keep your straight razor blade at VERY keen edge if proper honing techniques are applied . This straight razor hone is ready to be used. This straight razor hone is one of the best barber's hones ever made. There are tales that the lady who used to make these hones passed away and took the recipe for how to make such a fine grit synthetic hone. Description of the Hone This is a frictionite 00 hone made by the american hone Co in Iowa. When I received this awhile ago I lapped and chamfered all the sides, and accidently lapped off both the writing of the frictionite and american hone CO on the sides. This razor hone does come with the original green sleeve as pictured. This is a 2-sided hone with the cream colored side is the smoother side that I would rate in the 10-12K grit range. The gray color side is more coarse and probably in the 3-5K grit range. Length: Approx 4.5"Width: 2"Thickness: Approx 1/2" Note: This is an authentic FRICTIONITE RAZOR HONE.
