The pearls are black in color, green overtone with a very good luster, round to near round, and lightly blemished with very good matching. Graded on the strand. Tahitian cultured pearls form in the Pinctada Margaritifera oysters. This species is native to the central and South Pacific Ocean but is generally raised in lagoons by pearl farmers. Tahitian cultured pearls take between two to four years to form.
