DESCRIPTION Hanging Scroll: Carp & Pine Tree In Japan, "koi (carp)" is a symbol of strength, courage and patience. The picture of Koi fish shows gentleness and has been used for praying for the harmony of a couple and family. Artist Seido Dated Year 1915 Length 201 cm (about 79 inches) Width (between both roller ends) 58 cm (about 23 inches) Material of the Roller Ends Bone Primary Material of the Mounting Cloth Condition GOOD- , with stains & wear, handpainted on silk Grading System for Hanging Scrolls EXCELLENT : The hanging scroll itself is in brand new condition or shows little signs of having been hung. VERY GOOD : The hanging scroll has been hung some times, and might have slight stains and/or wear, which is acceptable.
