This crock is sure to gain value over time . It is made for functiona preserving of vegetables such as cucumbers for pickles and cabbage for sauerkraut . It is also excellent for use in the pantry or kitchen to store food items or really any item . The glazing is food safe and since the inside and outside are glazed , it is very easy to clean . Using this type of crock is known to be the easiest and healthiest way to preserve food . It will not retain any food flavor with is superior glazing . The shipping weight of this crock is arox 48 lbs and it measures approximately 16.5 "in diameter and 17.25 " high . The capacity is 10 gallons .
