Up for auction are 10 factory boxed USA PHILLIPS MADE JAN spec (Joint Army Navy) 12AT7WA preamp tubes! Most audiophiles and musicians agree, Sylvania (which were later branded Phillips) made some of the best sounding tubes in the USA during the Golden Era of US tube manufacturing, and these desirable SMALL THIN GRAY PLATE versions were the best from the last days of the US factory. These are a popular choice of both McIntosh and Fender guitar amps. The "WC" is the highest rating for a Military spec tube, t were no better made (or more expensive!) tubes in the world. These special military grade "WC" types have thick "doubled" mica spacers and were also are pumped down to a higher vacuum so they last longer and do not rattle apart in transportation. The 12AT7WA will also interchange nicely with commercial applications like the 6021 or Euro ECC81 dual triode tubes as well. All 10 tubes, in their individual boxes and original JAN spec Phillips factory 5 pack sleeves, and are date coded 1987, so these were made 23 years ago and have never seen light, much less voltage!
