We have tried our best to properly describe this item but if you have more questions we would be happy to try and answer them. THIS ITEM IS BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT FOR A NOSTALGIC GIFT... IT WOULD BE WELL RECEIVED AS IT IS LOVELY AND NOT "VINTAGE GROSS!"A hard to find early issue 1973 (1971 marked body 1973 marked box) "Big Jeff Big Jim's Buddy Adventure Set" from the 70's. The set is very difficult to find AND THIS IS THE USA DOMESTIC RELEASE. It is even more difficult to find in decent condition. This set belonged to a Barbie collector and was stored all of its life. All items from this set are unique to this set. These are the exact items that came with this exact pictured boxed figure... this set was not pieced together. There is no noticeable wear to the doll from play or use. This is nearly a 50 year old item and I'm certain you would be able to locate some storage wear or factory packing wear if you look close enough. That being said.... you will probably never find one that is loose in nicer condition. THIS IS A RARE EARLY RELEASE FIGURE MARKED 1971 and since he has not been in the sun his arms are not terribly discolored or melted. He has no melt marks on his body... normally most loose Jims have melt marks on their arms, armpits, and legs. This one does not. This one DOES NOT have cracks in his elbow joints and his wrist are not cracked or broken. His arms are NOT dried out or ready to crack... they are actually very supple and seem very new. I carefully looked under his arms and he ***DOES NOT HAVE MELTED ARMPITS*** Again, this item was stored and hasn't seen sunlight in nearly five decades. He is a very tight figure in excellent condition.We looked at all the accessories very closely but did not want to open the bag that they are in... although I kinda remember the factory bags only being taped. This is one not taped. The items in the bag look unused and near mint. We have checked and all the items make the figure 100% complete. The brown "quiver" holder seems to have a small .25" split directly in the middle which doesn't seem to affect anything (picture six very bottom right of holster/quiver). I imagine poor storage or rough handling or simple age might cause this. I've looked at dozens of auctions and this seems very common, almost the way it is. There seems to be light age on the chrome armband although it seems to lay nice and flat and still maintains its shine. The other items are not melted or damaged in any way that I can see. These accessories really look like they can be new and unused. Usually used accessories are melted or scratched or marked. These are not. They look at least near mint possibly factory new.The box is in fair condition. It shows age and was at one time probably crushed. It has since been moderately restored to its original shape. There are a few noticeable areas on the top right and bottom right window which are easily seen. It has noticeable repairs in order to restore the box shape and condition but they are mostly inside and not seen as the box is displayed. The box top shows wear and is sealed. The bottom remains opened and the box has all of its flaps and original insert... possibly original rubber band (not sure if he came with a twist tie), but the band seems like it wouldn't be very good to hold him. It is old and might pull on the insert too much. Therefore he won't be packed on the insert for travel. Overall the box is in fair condition. However, would display very nicely and is an excellent representation of this toy. "It is not gross." There isn't terribly unsightly stains or mold or issues too distracting from it's original self. I think most collectors would be very happy with the condition of this box and item. I wouldn't recommend having it graded but for display this item is top notch.
