Silk tobacco insert cards. This lot of cigarette cards were produced on silk, and were issued one at a time inside packets of cigarettes back in those early times, to be collected until a set could be completed. These silks are in average good condition for their age. I have not scanned all, but there are 100 in total, hopefully all different. I start these lots at a low starting price, their catalogue value is much greater. This large collection of 100 silk cigarette card silks, come in many various sizes, depicting many subjects, including military logos, regimental standards, world country flags, City Arms, city flags, Heraldic emblems, Butterflies, Flowers, Scottish Tartans, Military Leaders, famous paintings, antique ceramics, etc etc etc. Some have a printed back, some are embroidered, there are all types. Please notice that the overall condition of this collection is average good , but many of the silk cigarette cards are also frayed, some badly frayed at the edges, a couple are splitting, some are attached to card backing, but many are also near MINT condition. Some are exactly mint and still in their original wax paper wrapping. So on average the collection is very good. i am starting them at a very low price, could be a great bargain for somebody.
