$1000 bond issued by the Atlantic, Mississippi & Ohio Rail Road Company of Petersburg, Virginia dated september 9, 1871. Printed by the Continental Bank Note Company. Green and black on white paper, with large rectangular orange $1 revenue stamp printed in the center. President's signature is barely missed by hole cancellations. 20 cancellation holes symmetrically arranged. Attractive vignettes of eagle with flag at the left, moving train at top and sailing ship at right, none effected by the cancellations.. Overall size about 11" x 16". Free shipping.
