11.9kg (26 pound) Canyon Diablo IAB Iron Meteorite Individual This is a large 11.9kg individual specimen from the world famous Canyone Diablo meteorite at Meteor Crater. Many smaller piece of this meteorite have been found near the crater, but seldom is a piece this large aailable anymore. This piece is part of the Eugene Cornelius Collection. This lot has a Certificate of Authenticty signed by both the Cornelius' son John Cornelius as well as myself. Cornelius was a contemporary meteorite hunter with H.O. Stockwell, Nininger, and Monnig. Corneilus did quite a bit of hunting in the Wellman area, and he traded many of his finds to build his modest collection with both Stockwell and Nininger. I have been hired to liqudate the Cornelius Collection, so is an opportunity for you to acquire a great historical specimen from a great American strewnfield from a meteorite hunter that did his work back before meteorite hunting wasn't cool.
