Up for auction is a Handcrafted 1:12 Scale Wooden Stereoscope which is old stock from a miniatures store that closed in the 1980's. I took lots of photos, so look at them carefully to see how the stereoscope is constructed. This is a handheld "Holmes Style" stereoscope, invented in 1861 by Oliver Wendell Holmes and remaining in production for a century, so it will be appropriate for many styles of dollhouses. It doesn't actually have lenses and therefore is for appearance only. The double photographs to be viewed are "photographs of photographs" and are in color, printed on modern photographic paper.
