An impudent and alluring little devil adorns these cups and saucers! Hard to find 24 piece set of vintage original Carr China Loubat Devil design demitasse cups & saucers. T his unusual set of 12 cups and 12 saucers, both imprinted with the famous ( and very detailed) intriguing devil design, is in beautiful condition. Each cup measures approximately 4 7/8" high and the saucers measure 4 7/8" in diameter. The cups and saucers are made of porcelain and feature the image of a devil hovering over flames. These pieces were made in the 1940s in Grafton, West Virginia, by Carr China for Brennan's Restaurant in New Orleans; one of the cups is a little shorter than the others, otherwise all are identical. The cups were used to serve Brennan's Cafe Brulot. Loubat was the distributor. Loubat is still in business, but Carr China Com pany closed in 1952. This is the original production of this devilish design, and it's considered the best!
