This is a Tsuba for a Wakizashi made in Edo period. The design is of pine tree and crane, which is thought to be auspicious in Japan. The motifs are carved meticulously in shishibori. The cranes and the trunk of the pine tree are inlaid with gold: thetail of the crane and pine branches are coated with gold. T is a little rust seen, but t is no heavy corrosion.
