This is a superbly modelled figurine, all exquisitely hand painted, and comes from one of the best German manufacturers, Ernst Bohne & sons at Rudolstadt. Ernst Bohne made some very fine pieces in the famous Dresden and Meissen style, and this well modelled figurine is no exception. This piece is featured with Granny (with wire spectacles) talking to three grandchildren and has a basket of fruit by her side. The measurements are 6" high and 5" long, and comes in good condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs, apart from a bit of foliage iin the basket and on the base broken, which is common for these vintage figures. The bottom bears the blue underglaze anchor mark of the Ernst Bohne factory, with their EBS impressed initials, and dates to C1878. A lovely artistic figurine, from a quality German manufacturer.
