1914/15 Star named: 232 PTE. F.COOPER. A.CYC.CORPS.Frederick Cooper is entitled to a 14/15 Trio with the Victory and British War Medals being named to Corporal. He moved to the Tank Corps numbered 301528 which is confirmed on his medal index card. Serving with the 14th Battalion.Corporal Cooper was twice decorated for his bravery and gallantry. He was awarded a Military Medal with the 14th Battalion the Tank Corps, his citation reads 'For conspicuous gallantry and very conspicuous devotion to duty during the action of August 8 and 9, in the advance from Villers-Bretonneux to Meharicourt. This man did consistently good work as first driver throughout these days. He showed great skill in repairing an engine breakdown, during which time the tank was under heavy shell fire. On both days he showed great skill in driving so as to enable the best use to be made of the fire power of the tank. After driving during these two long and exhausting days he volunteered for action again on the 10th inst.
