14 simple moulding planes A motley collection of moulding planes: seven hollows, six rounds and one bead; of various ages and stylistic differences; some named. Battered No 6 bead marked MOSLEY & SONS LONDON. A sound No 18 hollow marked T. TURNER QUEEN ST SHEFFIELD [Mrs Sarah Turner at Queen St 1871-1888], 9 1/6”. A decent No 14 hollow with no maker’s mark, 9 ¼”. A stained No 10 hollow, poorly marked ZB VARVILL & SON YORK, 9 ¼”. A stained No 11 hollow with no maker’s mark, 9 3/8”. An un-numbered hollow with no maker’s mark, well patinated but has an old chip in front of the mouth, 9”, blade set at a shallower angle. A decent No 8 hollow marked W.DIBB.YORK in a scroll [Dibbs in York 1800-60], 9 3/8”. A battered un-numberd small hollow with no makers’ mark, 9 3/8”. A No 6 round and No 8 round, both scuffed, marked T. TURNER QUEEN ST SHEFFIELD, both 9 1/6”. A scuffed No 3 round marked, possibly, H.TODD [overstamped by an owner's mark], 9 ½”. An un-numbered round with no maker’s mark, stained, old wormholes, 9 1/3”, less than 3 ¼” deep, rounded shoulder, blade set at a shallower angle. An un-numbered round, marked shouldered ZB IOHN GREEN [second John Green died 1808], 9 5/12”, blade set at a steeper angle. This is quite heavy to post, so ideally buyer to collect and pay cash on collection (from London N1). But I’ve put read more
