You are bidding on fourteen Stothert hollow and round wood molding or moulding planes as pictured.13 of the 14 came to me together, with the same owner markings, and they are pairs of #2, #6, #13, #14, #16, and #18 hollows and rounds. The extra plane is a #9 round. Each is marked "STOTHERT BATH" and owner "G TIPPETT" (tiny letters) on the front end, and with the size on the back end. Also included is a cabinet pitch #1 that is marked "STOTHERT BATH" and with the size, but with different owners, and it came to me separately from the other 13.George Stothert and his succeeding family members made planes in Bath, England, from about 1784 to 1857. Please see British Plane Makers 3rd Editon for more information about him.Condition of all 14 is very good, but wanting a light cleaning, with the following exceptions or notations.#2 hollow -- strange screw hole in left side (???)#2 round -- dinged up on back end, wedge cracked#6 hollow -- wedge cracked#6 round -- wedge is a different color, but seems to fit well and is probably original, tail of iron is short#9 round -- dinged up wedge and on back end#16 hollow -- tiny chip in front of iron, some lengthwise scratches that aren't bad#18 round -- wedge dinged up a bitAll are quite functional.SHIPPING MOULDING PLANES: The typical moulding plane will weigh a bit over one pound when boxed, and read more
