Welcome to my auction for this beautiful Ezra Elmer Keene (1853-1929) lithograph in sepia tones. It is titled "Edinburgh Castle from Greyfriars Church, Bristol"on the lower right hand corner. The lower left had corner has the printed signature of Elmer Keene. Underneath his name is "Worchester". This print is under glass with a wooden gilded frame with the edging in black. It is in good condition showing some wear but nothing major that can't be touched up. Total measurement is approx. 15" x 8". A little history on landscape artist Ezra 'Elmer' Keene: Born in Osberton near Worksop in Nottinghamshire on 25 January 1853, h e is known for his landscape paintings. Although he lived in the English countryside, his work also included many marine subjects. He was able to earn a living by painting for his many local patrons, so rarely exhibited, but in 1895 he did exhibit one painting at the Royal Academy, a view of Burneston Bay in Yorkshire.
