Japanese Dragonware Luncheon Tea Set. 16 piece set (or 18 pieces if counting the lids). Has moriage dragons. This set includes 1 Coffee Pot with Lid (often called a teapot), 1 Creamer, 1 Sugar Bowl with Lid, 4 full sized Coffee Cups (or teacups), 4 Saucers, and 5 Plates. The Coffee Pot, Creamer, and Sugar Bowl are decorated with black enamel moriage. All pieces in this set include clay moriage dragons. T is black enamel pupils on the blue enamel eyes of the moriage dragons. Is signed by the manufacturer with a maker's mark on bottom, which is a DOUBLE T's IN DIAMONDS dark red hallmark (2 diamonds with a letter "T" in each) that says HAND PAINT, MADE IN JAPAN. The base color or background color is a pretty blue, with shades of browns. T's also reddish-brown flame-like squiggles (not light blue that's most commonly seen). The cups are lined inside with a golden peach lustre finish. I am uncertain of their age, but the craftsmanship is done nicely, so I am estimate that this set is probably from the mid or late 1920s or from the 1930s. The shapes of the porcelain coffee pot, creamer, and sugar bowl are the same shape as Nippon pieces. So I do not think that these are later than 1920s or 1930s.
