This auction is for a heavy copper bowl, or candy pot, with sturdy iron handles riveted on each side. This bowl came from an old bakery. It is at least 8O years. I sold a bit larger bowl, of the same design, from the same bakery, earlier this year and the winner of that auction dated his bowl as much older. This beautiful bowl is both functional, and displays wonderfully. The bowl measures just under 16" across, with almost a full inch of rolled rim. It measures almost 8" high, or deep. The rectangle handles are well attached with very nice, larger than usual, copper rivets. This bowl is heavy! The copper alone making up this bowl is worth more than the initial starting bid. The copper is thick, well aged with a really great patina. It would polish beautifully though. While well used, it has no dents, holes or problems of any kind.
