jThis is a printing of a map of Spain made by 17th century French cartographer Nicolas Sanson (1600-1667), and measuring 24" by 36". It is dated 1672 (see detail of title), so it was first published by Sanson's sons, and then, most likely, by his associate Hubert Jaillot in his Atlas Nouveau of 1692, a collection of many of Sanson's maps. It's become clear to me, with the three Sanson maps I've posted here, that they're all from this large bound atlas, because each features a central binding strip on the back side. The map is in good shape except for the tears as noted, and would look great framed. Colors are vibrant and the paper is holding up well.No returns on this map, because of the risk of mishandling. Flat $12 shipping/handling, in a 36" tube, in the US via USPS priority mail, $30 outside US.
