J NALSON LONDON THOMAS DRING 1684 Selling here is a largely very good copy of 'A True Copy of the Journal of the High Court of Justice for the Tryal of King Charles II' by J Nalson, published in London in 1684.Folio, bound in period calf boards more recently rebacked.The book measures 20.5cm by 32.5cm.The contents meet collation: [10], LXX, [2], 128, [8] p, lacking only the portrait of King Charles, with 2 further full page engravings, the allegorical frontispiece, and engraving of the trial. - With explanations of the frontispiece and trial scene. 2 pages partially printed in red. With [6] final pages of: "An alphabetical catalogue of the members of the execrable pretended High Court of Justice ..." and [2] final pages of advertisements.This is one of a number of antiquarian books we are listing today, please View My Other Items For Sale Condition: The binding is holding firmly and is in good condition, with some general wear to surface / extremities from handling, head of spine chipped / cracked, corners repaired. Contents are holding quite firmly, joints strained and several groups of gatherings working loose, generally in good crisp condition if a little toned, with some light scattered foxing, sporadic dust soiling and finger marks, lower margins browned, occasional creases or handling marks though nothing too disfiguring.
