William in Order to a French Invasion of this Kingdom By Anon 1696 - London - Samuel Heyrick and Isaac Cleve 12.5" by 8", 48, 76pp DETAILS Two fascinating scarce trials from 1696, relating to the Jacobite plots to assasinate William of Orange in 1695-6. First Editions. Two trials from 1696 bound as one. The first has been seen at auction only once in the last thrity years, in 2002 and the second not at all. Very scarce. Publishing permission granted by J. Holt to Heyrick and Cleve in both cases. Sir William Parkins also on trial for 'raising forces in order to a rebellion, and encouraging a French invasion into this Kingdom. Who was found guilty of High-Treason, March 24th 1695. At the sessions-house in the Old-Baily. Together with a true copy of the papers delivered by Sir William Parkins and Sir John Friend, to the Sheriffs of London and Middlesex, at the time of their execution'.
