Two 1696 Rare British William III Silver Crown For auction are two rare British William III Silver Crowns. Included in this lot are two British silver coins from the reign of William III. Both of these coins are silver crowns measuring approx. 25/6mm in diameter. Both of these silver coins show the Bust of William III laureated and draped facing right, with the letters 'GVLIELMUS.III.DEI.GRA. The reverse of this coin shows the four crowned shields with arms of the nations. The Lion of Nassau sits at the centre . The reverse also shows the first Harp in Irish arms. And the letters '1696. MAG.BR.FRA.ET.HIB.REX'. These antique silver coins are in antique condition, both of these coins were detector finds. As such they may benefit from a gentle clean. One of the coins is in better condition than the other in terms of wear and definition. William III's bust and the reverse are more pronounced and a little clearer than the other coin.
