Printed in London by M Bennet, for Jacob Tonfon at Gray's Inn Gate in Gray's Inn Lane in 1699. Contents include To the Reader, Seneca's Life and Death, Seneca of Benefits, Seneca's Morals of a Happy Life; of Anger and Clemency Abstracted by Sir R L'Estrange Part II, Seneca of Anger and Clemency, Seneca's Morals The Third and Laft Part Digefted into XXVIII Epistles by Sir Roger L'Estrange. The Seventh Edition with separate title page dated 1698. Poftfcript and An After-Thought. 'Seneca was, by Birth, a Spaniard of Cordova (a Roman Colony of great Fame and Antiquity.) His father train'd him up to Rhetorick, but his Genius led him rather to Philofophy; and he apply'd his Wit to Morality and Virtue.' 619 pages plus 13 pages of An After-Thought. Book in poor condition but it has survived! 4.25 x 7.50 inches. Front cover detached with covering marked and torn. Raised spine with pieces missing. Back cover loose and worn with corner missing from covering. No end-papers, first page title page which is stained and marked and has piece missing and small hole and is part detached.
