A 17-21lb. Block of Montana Soapstone for Stone Carving This is a irregular block of Montana Soapstone weighting 17 to 21 lbs. It is a beautiful soft green with jade green veining. Thisis an irregular cut block of Montana Soapstone weighing 17 to 21 lbs (it will not have a perfect right angle cut) and the approximate size is 10" X 7" X 4". It is a beautiful soft green with jade green veining . It will be double boxed in a medium USPS Flat Rate Priority Mail box. Soapstone is compressed talc with a hardness of 1. The picture of the Montana Soapstone is not the exact stone you will receive but is merely representational of 17 - 21 lb piece of Montana Soapstone( the stone all comes from the same lot so color and size will be about the same). We have polished one side of the block to show you what the stone looks like finished .Even with every precaution in packing some breakage can occur with this stone and is impossible to avoid. Soapstone is great for crafts, mosaics, beads, jewelry, small animal figures, and is easy to carve with a penknife and finish with any kind of rasp or sandpaper. Wax may be used for final finish(warm stone in the sun to get to heat it up). We ship on Mondays and Thursdays!
