1700's Chinese Carved Jade Belt Buckle Converted to Letter Opener Look at this ! Don't miss it! Here is an exceptional find. It is a belt buckle, masterfully carved from one piece of solid pale Green Jade stone It dates back to the 1700's and is Chinese in origin. Some pieces like this were later converted to letter opener handles. The cased brass letter opener blade, also masterfully decorated, was custom made and attached to the buckle sometime in the late 19th/early 20th century It is attached merely by the shaped loops in the brass blade, no adhesives used, and therefore the buckle is fully intact and unaffected!
