Beautiful antique 1700s eighteenth-century reclaimed square blue and white Dutch Delft tile, measuring roughly 5 by 5 inches. The subject of this tile presents us with a landscape view of a rural area, dominated by the structure of a church within a churchyard. This tile is additionally ornamented by so-called "spider" motifs at each corner, and is sold a a condition commensurate with both its considerable age and its peculiar status as a work of reclaimed architectural salvage. As per the photographs, there is a loss to the glaze at the top of this ceramic, as well as fleabites to the right-hand side of this tile. Please write with any questions, or for any further information , and if you happen to collect Delft tiles, please see our other auctions for more examples of the kind!
