Title: Madras and Fort St George, Taken by the French under the command of M Mahe de la Bourdonnais, the 21st Septr 1746 Date: 1747 Publisher: J. Hinton; Universal Magazine, London Size: 7" X 11 ¼" Condition: VERY FINE, folded, as issued Notes: Extremely ornate plan of Madras, India, showing the fort and the city in street level, as well as showing images of the French fleet, and naming the ships individually. The map has a decorative cartouche, and has printed references along the left side of the plate identifying the places of interest. A clean and bright 18th Century plan. This is an ORIGINAL map it is NOT a reproduction.
