Title lightly marked, else a crisp and clean copy. Richard Pulteney (1730-1801), English botanist and leading Linnaean. An apothecary and surgeon by training, Pulteney had not undergone academic study in medicine until his thirties. This present work is his doctoral thesis on the Peruvian bark or Quinine, and its medicinal properties, and secured his graduation only three month's after matriculation at Edinburgh University.
