Regnault Botanical Prints 1774Antirrhinum spurium We are pleased to offer a selection of prints from La Botanique Mise a La Portee de tout le Monde by Nicolas Franois Regnault with most of the engravings by his wife, Genevieve de Nangis Regnault, published in Paris, 1774. These originally hand colored copper engravings described by Blunt as Perhaps the most impressive French Botanical work of the period. The work includes both useful & decorative plants, including the newly discovered potato which Genevieve de Nangis Regnault described in an engaging & typically French manner as possibly the only good thing that ever came out of America. Each print is on high-quality, chain-lined paper, with strong plate marks. Most sheets bear watermarks. T is an occasional very light fox mark, usually in the margins. Each print is super-sized approximately 13 1/2 inches by 18 inches, and is accompanied by the original descriptive text & a copy of the title page. These prints sell for as much as $750 retail. Please inspect the images carefully as they are quite accurate. These prints are in excellent condition, and over 230 years old. Please note paper is toned. Please note all our prints are ORIGINAL antique prints with documented provenance. We do NOT sell reproductions of any type. Click to see allof my eBay auctions For more about read more
