Offered without reserve:Revolutionary war manuscript document, "Mr. Eleazer Lake to Abr'm Rand Dr. / 1775 Dec'r 15th to 38 Pewter Dishes + plates at 1/6/ to 2 Pewter Quart potts / to 2 Large Basons / to 4 Large pewter Porringers / Salem Oct'r 9 1777."On the basis of the quantities and dates (provisioned 1775, billed 1777), we would surmise the pewter was for military use.Thick laid paper, with portion of ornate watermark. Measures approx. 2 3/4 x 5 1/2. Filing folds; some unobtrusive staining at horizontal fold. Very good overall.In a quick online search, we find that an Abraham Rand is buried in Broad Street Cemetery, Salem, Massachusetts, having died January 25, 1804, at age 68.
