This beautiful map is by Rigobert Bonne, published in Paris, 1787. Size: The map measures approx 16½" x 11", (42cm x 28cm). Description: This beautiful copper engraved map is by Rigobert Bonne and from the famous "Atlas Encyclopedique". It is engraved on thick hand made paper with nice deep impression from the copper plate. This is an original antique map which is printed on one side only. This map is a genuine antique, 219 years old. Rigobert Bonne who was Royal Hydrographer, Bonne's principal interest lay in the production of marine charts but he issued a number of other works, often including maps by fellow cartographers. He also provided maps for a notable atlas by Guillaume Raynal and for an Historical Atlas and Encyclopaedia published in association with Nicolas Desmaret (1725-1805). Condition: The map is in good condition except for some slight discolouration. Shipping: Buyer to pay postage. ($6 airmail outside Europe, $4 airmail inside Europe, $3 first class inside UK).
