Numerous dates on the plates Various sources give a date range of the Hooper and Wigstead New Edition from 1787 through 1797. This volume is printed on paper watermarked dated 1810 on [q] 2, pt. II p. 63. I believe it to be the last wide paper edition Issued by Mrs. Wigstead in 1812. Bound in full calf with gold rollwork, rebacked. Marbleized endpps., edges. 10 x 13 ¾ “ 25 x 34.8 cm. Volume 1 only BINDING: Boards are somewhat scuffed, corners slightly bumped, frayed BOOKBLOCK: Is sound and tight. Title, edges and interior pages, age toned and foxed (see photos). Small stains to top, fore and bottom edge, and endpapers. Text is clear and sharp with some slight offsetting throughout. Both inside gutters are a bit ragged and tender, especially front gutter. Small tears to a couple of plates and text pages, wrinkle in Upper LH Corner, I, 91-128 and a slight damp stain to upper I/S corner of several pages, read more
