This original document is addressed to " the subscribers, inhabitants and voters in the Second Parish " in Rowley, Mass, and is dated June 7, 1797.This handwritten petition seeks to waive the Ordination of WILLIAM BREMAN (sp? ) " ... till they can obtain farther satisfaction respecting the Gentleman's qualifications ". The process of selecting the Minister is questioned, as well as the religious tenets of the time.3 page document ( two pages with text ) and the signature appearing on the 3rd page. This 1797 church document measures 7 1/2 by 12 inches and is in FAIR condition. Old folds have given way to some tears.. Very good ink. There is a loss of large section of the 3rd page ( see scan # 4 ).
