This is a quite stunning oak corbel with the lion head and other of which: During our research we have been informed it dates from the 17th century and is of black forest origin . Dates about c1680. Certainly a quite superb intricate relief carved corbel with: centrally the head of the lion with its fine detailing. Other carvings to the flat area below the head and to the curved area above. Intricate carvings of the feet and claws to the base area. Carvings to either side. Carved in an oak and c arved in relief, therefore a one piece carved corbel . Has an overall size of about 11 x 3.5inches. Max depth of 3.25 inches. Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent and is without any major blemish. chip to the top at a side and at the base to the side. All as per pictures.
