A doctoral dissertation on the sources of the 17th Century allegorical paintings in the Antwerp picture galleries Matthias Winner (11 March 1931 in Szczecin ) is a German art historian . Winner studied Art History and Classical Archaeology at the Universities of Cologne, Bonn, Munich, Paris and London. In 1957 he was at the University of Cologne PhD. 1957-58 he was on Schnütgen Museum in Cologne. From 1958 to 1960 he was an assistant at the University of Berlin , from 1960 to 1963 assistant at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence . 1963 to 1977 he worked at the Print Room of the National Museums in Berlin , most recently as director. In 1968 he received his habilitation at the University of Berlin, where he was appointed and in 1977 an honorary professor. From 1977 until retirement in 1999 he was Director of the Bibliotheca Hertziana in Rome. CONDITION: Very Good. (Light corner creases. Clean contents.)
