The outstanding Model Icons "Police Vehicle Collection" 1/18 scale model of the Ford Escort Mk.3 1.1L Section Car as used by Essex Police circa 1987. The Ford Escort MK3 formed the backbone of Police forces section car fleets during the 1980's. This car replaced a number of other basic cars used to fulfil the role of section car, which was the new generic term used after the demise of the blue and white panda car scheme. These cars were a familiar sight in towns and on housing estates policing their respective beats. Essex Police used a large number of Ford products as many of them were built in the area. This excellent model offers a superb level of fine detailing, & features working steering, opening doors, opening boot & bonnet, revealing a detailed engine. The model, (Model Icons number 999005) measures 8 9" (230mm) in length, & is one of a Limited Edition of only 999 pieces produced worldwide. Please note: As you can see, the tips of two of the roof aerials have broken off, but part of one of them is there. There is no certificate, but in all other respects, it is in excellent condition.
