When considering the actual values of the individual prints these lots are often worth Several Hundred Percent MORE than the Buy it Now price. *** THIS LOT CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: XXe SIECLE / KANDINSKY / WOODCUT: 1 KANDINSKY woodcut on Velin d'Arches from a special issue of the deluxe French art review XXe Siecle ; Kandinsky created the original design for this woodcut for a Nouvelle issue of the XXe Siecle and due to its popularity it was reissued by XXe Siecle in 1976 in a special issue devoted entirely to the works of Kandinsky ; **SIGNED IN THE PLATE** printed single sided on cream colored Arches wove paper and measuring approx 9.5" x 12" VERVE / ROUAULT: 1 ROUAULT color lithograph heightened with gold gilt created specially by Rouault for the deluxe French art review VERVE ; pulled on the presses of Mourlot in Paris in 1939 this was the front cover of the scarce 4th issue ; printed on heavy stock and measuring 11" x 14"; **SIGNED IN THE PLATE** original VERVE lithographs are highly collectible and comparable examples are listed by galleries for hundreds of dollars The Atelier Mourlot was the leading lithographic printer of the 20th century, famous for printing the posters and lithographs of such artists as Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Braque, Leger, Matisse and others; trimmed slightly at the left side of the sheet, else these 72 year old original lithograph is in excellent condition DEGAS: 1 EDGAR DEGAS limited edition etching colored with pochoir with indented plate mark surrounding the image on beautiful Velin Marias paper; the etching is one of only 1000 printed for the rare Degas Monotypes portfolio. the full sheet measures approx 8 x 10 inches with margins surrounding the image; you can both see the feel the plate mark around the image and there is a beautiful cursive "Marais" watermark at the left side of the sheet; **SIGNED IN THE PLATE** other examples of these Degas monotype etchings are listed for between $300-$600 ; Very Rare MINAUX / MOURLOT: 1 ANDRES MINAUX double page color lithograph printed by Mourlot Freres; Minaux created this original design specially for a gallery catalogue promoting the first United States exhibition of his work; printed in Paris, France in 1962 on laid paper; measuring approx 14.5 x 10" (with centerfold and tiny thread holes at centerfold as issued); comparable examples are listed by galleries for hundreds of dollars The Atelier Mourlot was the leading lithographic printer of the 20th century, famous for printing the posters and lithographs of such artists as Picasso, Chagall, Miro, Braque, Leger, Matisse and others.
