Found this on an old farm in Waterford, WI on a property that we demoed a barn and house. It was being used as a yard decorate item, suspend by logs with a flower garden growing in it.These 'drag pans' as they were called and the horses that pulled them excavated millions of tons of earth that many of our cities were built on today. Own a piece of history. Think of the souls that sweated and broke their backs for years with these things prior to the industrial age to create the early landscapes we can produce today in a few hours with modern equipment. It's pretty big but surprisingly not as heavy as it looks. I can carry it. The picture with the bench behind it is meant to give you an idea on it's size compared to the bench. There is a really cool old lock on the chain. No key found though sorry. Put it to work or decorate the yard! Pretty cool piece! Located in my warehouse in Trevor, Wisconsin by the Illinois border. Thank you!
